HTC Rezound Added to the HTC Unbricking Project

HTC Rezound Added to the HTC Unbricking Project
A while back, we brought you news of the HTC Unbricking Project. In essence, the project allows for users to restore their bricked HTC devices. For once, we’re not talking about soft bricks, either. The sort bricks this helps fix are ones where the HBoot is corrupted, seemingly making the phone hard bricked. Now, the HTC Rezound has been added to the project as well.
On behalf of the rest of the Unbricking team, XDA Recognized Contributor antp121 has released their work for the HTC Rezound. Much like its prior releases, users will need a Linux installation without Unity, the latest RUU for the Rezound, and of course the bricked device. From there, it’s a long and complicated tutorial that walks users through fixing what used to be a brick bad enough to ship back to the manufacturer.
The kind of issues this fixes are pretty uncommon. As antp121 explains:
We are proud to announce that the Rezound is now UNbrickable. Users with the QHSUSB_DLOAD issue can now fully recover their phones and get them fully functional. For any support, feel free to contact me on twitter, post in this thread or even PM me This method was tested by me when i n00bed out
Note: This will fix only devices which were bricked by turning S ON and bricks caused by a damaged hboot via interrupted OTA update/RUU flash on a S-ON device.
So if you happen to have this problem, there is now a solution. For more details, check out theRezound Unbricking thread. This was also released for the HTC EVO 4G LTE a short time ago, but HTC has since patched their methods. So don’t be surprised if the same happens with the other Unbricking Project-supported devices. Good job, HTC.
