Gameloft Releases Wild Blood Gameplay Trailer (Shut Up and Take My Google Play Gift Card!)

After teasing us a few weeks back with little more than some fancy artwork and in-game character models, Gameloft is finally giving us a look at some actual gameplay for their upcoming title Wild Blood. The hype surrounding WB is that it’s being built using the Unreal Engine 3 made famous by iOS’ Infinity Blade. Needless to say, Android gamers are expecting nothing short of console-quality visuals.
When it comes to gameplay, many were expecting Wild Blood to be nothing more than an Infinity Blade rip-off (a business model Gameloft has become infamous for thanks to their “me too” titles). However, watching through their gameplay footage, it seems this will be more of a free-roaming, action RPG, hack-n-slash than a gesture based medieval Fruit Ninja. Take a look for yourself.
I must admit, while WB looks much better than the typical Gameloft fare, there seems to be a little something lacking. Call it “pizazz” or what have you. Animations seemed a little stiff, and there really wasn’t enough dynamic lighting or special effects to really wow me. But then again, maybe I’m just a hard sell. I did find the gameplay appealing thanks to the inclusion of a dodge maneuver which should add some skill to an otherwise mindless genre. What did you guys think? Is Wild Blood already living up to your expectations?
